Check out Teaching Tolerance’s spring issue

I absolutely cannot brag enough about the wonderful resource that is Teaching Tolerance – a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center.  I have received their free magazine for educators for a number of years, which is chock full of teaching and professional development resources related to social justice:  confronting stereotypes and prejudice, examining historical wrongs, encouraging discussion of ethics.  The Spring 2012 issue includes the idea of taking students on a virtual Civil Rights Road Trip and reflecting on events of the past through a differentiated writing activity entitled “Postcards from the Past” (PDF of printables).  The resources provided in this publication are stellar, and the geek in me even loves the graphic design.  Take a peek at the web features and if you love it, sign up for a free subscription.
