So I’ll be taking the proverbial show on the road in February to not one, not two, but three professional conferences. Each conference is a very different topic and format, so lots of preparation. I’m excited, but I’m looking forward to unwinding March 1st. Do I have a supportive husband/cattlehand or what?
Here’s the itinerary:
- “Talk amongst yourselves: Backchanneling to increase student engagement, build community, and inform instruction.” (February 6, 2013). 5th Annual Conference on Higher Education Pedagogy, Center for Instructional Development and Educational Research (CIDER) at Virginia Tech – Blacksburg, Virginia.
- “The distribution of National Board Certified Teachers in Virginia.” (February 22, 2013). Annual Eastern Educational Research Association (EERA) Conference – Sarasota, Florida.
- “No more binders! Harnessing free web-based tools to prepare narratives and present artifacts for external review.” (February 26, 2013). AdvancED Virginia Winter Conference – Williamsburg, Virginia.
First poster, handout, and Google Doc with resources and references is ready to go. Feel free to take a peek and offer any feedback – or if you’re a seasoned presenter – any additional tips on preparation the day of the conference!
